Recently, with the deterioration of social environment and
increasing pressure of work, female body function has changed a lot. Thus the
rate of adenomyosis on females becomes higher and higher, which leads to low
pregnant rate on women with adenomyosis.
Firstly, what is adenomyosis?
Adenomyosis occurs when endometrial
tissue, which normally lines the uterus, exists within and grows into the
muscular wall of the uterus. This happens most often late in your childbearing
years after having children.
Adenomyosis differs from endometriosis —
a condition in which the uterine lining becomes implanted outside the uterus —
although women with adenomyosis often also have endometriosis. The cause of
adenomyosis remains unknown, but the disease typically disappears after
menopause. For women who experience severe discomfort from adenomyosis, certain
treatments can help, but hysterectomy is the only cure.
Symptoms:
Sometimes, adenomyosis is
silent — causing no signs or symptoms — or only mildly uncomfortable. In other
cases, adenomyosis may cause:
·
Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding
·
Severe cramping or sharp, knife-like pelvic pain during
menstruation (dysmenorrhea)
·
Menstrual cramps that last throughout your period and worsen as
you get older
·
Pain during intercourse
·
Bleeding between periods
·
Passing blood clots during your period
Your uterus may double or
triple in size. Although you might not know if your uterus is enlarged, you may
notice that your lower abdomen seems bigger or feels tender.
Why it causes female fertility?
1.
It can cause the adhesion of genital system, which leads to
abnormal fallopian tubes and uterine position.
2.
It changes ovarian function and affects ovulation. Once the
process of ovulation is interrupted, it will be difficult to get pregnant.
3.
It changes immune systems. The patients with adenomyosis present
unsolved follicle LUF syndrome, which disable the patients to ovulate. Without
ovulation, females cannot get pregnant.
The experts say adenomyosis has become one of the main reasons for
female fertility and affect their health and happiness. The patients with
severe symptoms have low rate to get pregnant. After treatment, it can be
solved.
Treatment
Most women have some adenomyosis as they near menopause but few women
have symptoms, and most women don’t require any treatment. In some cases, pain
medicine may be needed. Birth control pills and a progesterone-containing
intrauterine device (IUD) can help decrease heavy bleeding. A hysterectomy may
be necessary in women with severe symptoms.
